Bee disease event this Saturday

There are a few spaces left if you haven’t already signed up (details here )

For those of you that have signed up, he’s the fine details you need….

Please arrive ready for a 9am start and bring your CLEAN bee suit, boots and new marigold/disposable gloves. If you do not have these you will not be able to do the practical inspections. 
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, please bring your own lunch.
Also bring £5 payment for the day.

Programme for the day:

9.00 Start
9.30 Talk on Hygiene Husbandry and Disease
10.30 Break out groups – 3 groups
Workshops on:-

*Practical apiary disease inspection
*Varroa biology and IPM
*Varroacides and Veterinary Medicine Records
*Diseased comb recognition
16.00 Question & Answer session
(Lunch & tea breaks as appropriate)

Event presented in association with Bee Diseases Insurance Ltd (BDI) BDI provides insurance for the replacement of beekeeping equipment should it have to be destroyed due to an incidence of a notifiable disease, such as European or American Foul Brood.  Whilst Bee Diseases Insurance Ltd’s primary aim is that of providing insurance against losses incurred when disease is found, its aims also include the Promotion of other measures for mitigating the losses suffered by beekeepers through bee diseases or other causes’. In other words, working towards a healthy bee population in England and Wales.
