Queen rearing group 2015

First meeting this year on Wednesday 18th March at The George, Backwell. 7.30pm (in The Dungeon!)

In the spring last year we set up a workshop group to explore and try out the variety of ways of queen rearing. We are going to continue the group this year and new members are welcome.

As with last year the meetings will be arranged to meet the needs of the individuals and the group. We use mainly the apiaries of participants. Phil Clemente has agreed again to act as advisor to the group and at times we may bring in other experienced members of the branch who have been involved in queen rearing. However the onus will be on the members of the group to work together and support each other in developing their skills. Last year we had about 4 meetings where we shared our successes and failures, ending with a feed-back to the membership.

Before we first meet it would be expected that new members of the group will have done some reading around the subject so they are aware of the variety of alternatives in rearing queens and the one most appropriate to their needs and interests.

It would be useful to know approximately how many wish to be involved. If you are interested in joining the group could you email here (Education Co-Ordinator Rob)

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like further information.
